-
Better bubble stability, higher outputs, increased line speeds, and easier conversion of the film.
-
Enhances impact, stiffness, and tear strength performance.
-
Improves barrier for moisture and oxygen.
-
Modifies surface for improved COF, printability, weld strengths, and adhesion.
Product Description
HM10® CaCO3 concentrates are designed to improve the performance of polyethylene blown film applications. HM10® concentrates contain 76%-80% of a fine ground, surface treated CaCO3 combined with various polyolefin carrier resins.
Products Available
HM10® Max
> 80% in LLDPE carrier.
HM10® S Series
> 80% in LLDPE carriers available with 0.5, 1, 2, and 5% added slip.
HM10® HD
> 76% in HDPE carrier.
HM10® usage levels range from 5-40%, depending on the targeted
application.
What to Expect During Processing
HM10® requires no change in the temperature profile.
Lower extruder amps and pressures often realized due to lower melt
viscosity.
-
HM10® concentrates produce a whiter appearance in un-pigmented films.
-
Colored film may appear lighter - the solution involves reformulation of the color masterbatch
which will allow maintaining the colorant loading level.
Productivity Gains
CaCO3 conducts heat approximately 20 times faster than polymers
alone. Increased thermal conductivity of the extrudate results in faster heating and cooling of polymer resulting in:
> Enhanced processability and extrusion output.
> Easier handling and converting.
> Significantly increased line speeds and faster film converting
times.

Physical Property Improvements
> Improves impact strength of both LLDPE and HDPE film and sheet.
> Enhances tear strength and stiffness of film and sheet.
> Increases seal strengths of film.
> Increased barrier to moisture and oxygen.
> Improves printability.
> Improves formability in sheet applications.
