Product
Description
HiCal™ and
HM10® concentrates contain up to 80% fine ground, surface
treated CaCO3 in various polyolefin carriers: PP (HiCal),
HDPE and LLDPE (HM10).
>
CaCO3 concentrates are able to reduce the raw material
cost of injection molding applications currently using
filled compounds
>
New molds for mineral concentrates and their many
advantages - cost and performance

Raw
Materials Savings
-
HiCal™
and HM10® concentrates provide significant raw
materials savings compared to other filled
compounds
-
Use of
HiCal™ and HM10® concentrates in resin only systems
can provide additional productivity and performance
improvements
What
to Expect During Processing
-
No changes
in temperature profiles are required.
-
Lower
extruder amps and pressures often realized due to
lower melt viscosity
-
Color
concentrates are added separately to the injection
molding process and final part appearance will be
relatively unaffected:
> Un-pigmented parts will appear uniformly
white
> Colored parts may require reformulation
Physical
Property Improvements
-
HiCal™
concentrates are designed to maintain physical
properties of current filled PP compounds
-
HiCal™
and HM10® are designed to achieve full dispersion and
distribution of CaCO3 particles during injection
molding processes
-
Increased
impact and stiffness are possible with reinforcing
effects of CaCO3 concentrates
