| Day-in
and day-out the Heritage Plastics Technology and Testing
Lab provides custom solutions for unique situations that
enhances plastic products, reduces carbon footprint and
reduces overall costs.
This comprehensive laboratory
(with capabilities from basic resin or mineral
characterization to full physical performance testing)
is called upon to enhance plastics processing.
To begin, we evaluate how our
products will enhance your product. Typical testing
includes: tear & impact strength, top load, stiffness,
and dimensional changes. Prior to final trials, we
confirm all high performance characteristics that will
be achieved.
Our portable "test kit” that can
be taken to your plant where we can monitor the loading
level of our concentrates as well as any changes in
processing, cooling behavior, cycle time and energy
inputs.
Case Study
Heritage Plastics demonstrated a
thermoformed HIPS process. In this process, our lab determined the
optimum mineral and resin carrier combinations before
arriving at the prototype stage. A “best” concept was
rendered and then applied to a variety of HIPS, while monitoring the
potential affect.
After a series of trials, the StyroCal™ product line was
launched with the result of increased productivity,
improved performance and a significant savings on raw
materials costs.
