Product
Description
StyroCalTMHP
CaCO3 concentrates are designed to provide significant
material cost savings in polystyrene applications.
StyroCalTMHP is 80% of fine ground, surface treated CaCO3
in a specially selected polystyrene resin. It is designed
to be added at 10- 30% loading levels to achieve an
optimum balance between improvements in productivity and
physical properties.
What
to Expect During Processing
-
No change in
temperature profiles required
> Lower temperatures may provide optimum performance
-
Melt
viscosity will tend to be lower as mineral affects melt
rheology
> Lower extrusion amps and pressures often observed
-
Some initial
purging may occur but goes away, typically within 30
minutes
-
Appearance
of pigmented parts will be relatively unaffected
> Un-pigmented products will appear uniformly
white
> Colors may need reformulations (varying effects)
